The Cheetah
what a magficanit animal to witness in its natural environment. So elegant in its movements, but yet so purposeful. With amazing eyesight it moves ever so closer to its prey maybe a Wildebeest calf. The calf doesn’t stand a chance with the Cheetah’s speed. This is the ultimate cycle of Preditor vs Prey in the Serengeti.
But there is much more to the lives of these magnificant animals than hunting prey. The mother Cheetah has the responsibility of raising her cubs for two years. Her role is to keep them safe and to teach them to become proficient hunters to survive.
Sometimes the cubs seem more interested in playing than learning how to survive. The mother usually wins this battle and gets them back on track.

The Acacia Tree
is an iconic symbol of the Serengeti Plains. Providing shade for some animals and shelter for prey and preditors alike, its beauty is stunning to me. Photos of the tree alive or dead, bring me back to the stark beauty of the endless vistas of the Serengeti.
